To keep your mouth as healthy as possible and your smile looking its best, we recommend that you visit Dr. Sood twice a year for Crofton dental cleanings and exams. These routine checkups will help you:
Give us a call today to schedule your next dental cleaning and exam: 301-261-3800. Refer a new patient to our office, and you’ll be entered into a drawing to win a free Phillips Sonicare toothbrush. Our friendly office is located just off Crofton Parkway, across from the Crofton Country Club.
Seeing us every six months for a dental cleaning and dental exam is important. Regular checkups allow our team to monitor your oral health. We’ll treat any problems we see early on, before they have the chance to damage your smile.
Like many of our patients, you may be concerned about discomfort during your visit. If so, we have you covered. Our office features:
During your checkup, we’ll use special equipment to check for problems, including our DIAGNOdent electronic cavity detection system and special computer software that allows us to spot more tooth decay in X-rays. If we find any problems, we’ll recommend restorative dental care or other treatments to repair your smile.
Our team may also recommend preventive services like fluoride treatments and tooth sealants. When fluoride is applied directly to your tooth enamel, it strengthens the enamel and helps prevent cavities. Sealants are thin plastic coatings painted onto the biting surfaces of molars to form a protective layer against disease-causing bacteria. These treatments are beneficial for both kids and adults.

Everyone is friendly and caring. Dr. Sood is very kind, friendly, understanding and great at what she does. The hygienists are gentle, friendly and instructive. Michelle did a thorough job on my teeth! The front desk staff are kind and VERY helpful – especially Lindsey!! She is patient and on top of things. It’s also nice to see a family dental practice where family supports the practice – thumbs up to Mr. Sood for supporting his wife and providing a cheerful welcome to patients!
I very highly recommend Dr Sood. I’ve been a patient ever since Dr Sood took over the practice. She is a very competent doctor who cares a lot about her patients. Today the hygienist Michelle did a great job cleaning my teeth, as did Suzy at my previous visit.
Dr. Sood and her staff, especially Lindsay are the best! They are personable, genuine and truly care about their patients. Dr. Sood takes the time to explain things and answers questions. I never feel rushed in the appointments. They are the absolute best!

Most of the time, a regular dental cleaning and exam will take about an hour. During this time, our team will take a set of X-rays if needed, thoroughly clean and polish all your teeth, and perform a complete dental exam. If you need additional work, such as a tooth filling or fluoride treatment, we’ll let you know and advise you of the extra time required.
We recommend getting your teeth cleaned and examined every six months. Biannual visits will keep your teeth and gums in good shape. It will also give your dentist a chance to discover any problems while they are small and easily treatable. Plus, exams give us a good opportunity to discuss your smile challenges and goals with you.
According to the American Dental Association, you should brush your teeth twice and floss once every single day. While this is essential in keeping your mouth clean and healthy, only a professional has the instruments and training to remove plaque buildup from your teeth and spot gum disease in its earliest stage. This is why you should visit the dentist for cleanings about every six months.
If you wait until you are in pain, you already have a serious problem. On top of that, not all dental problems cause pain. By getting regular exams, you get the benefit of having dental professionals look at your mouth. We can identify potential problems or catch them in the early stages. That allows us to fix them before you may need expensive and invasive treatments.
